Saturday, May 17, 2008

This is indeed a true story and has even been reported in many newspapers. I personally have seen the article by myself. Not only that, various article regarding this story was also seen in the net. I do hope that anyone who has read about the news will show a sense of humanity towards the victim.

After the approximately 7.8 magnitude earthquake shaked the grounds of China, rescue team were dispatched and ordered to search for lost victims of the tragedy. And this is a story about a mother's motherly love in sacrificing her live to protect her 4 month old baby.

The mother was found inside a crushed house. She appeared unusual due to her posture. She was on her knees and her body bent down to the ground. She was in a 'kowtow' position.

The rescuer confirmed her death on the spot and then shouted into the gap, in search for any survivors. No response from the inside.

As they start to move to the next area, the leader of the team ran back to the victim and later shouted "come here". The leader then had his hands strecthed under the woman. And as he touchs and feels, he later shoued loudly "there is someone, a baby, still living"

A 4 month baby was wrapped with a quilt, harmlessly it was brought out from the gap created by the mother. They later realised that her mother had gave up her life in protecting the baby using her back as a shield to withstand the pressure of the thumbling walls. Her back had withstand such high pressure that it was totally run out of shape.

The team examined the baby and found out that he's fine. The doctor who has with the team unfasten the quilt to make sure that the baby is alright. Under the quilt was a mobile phone and there the sms states...

"my dear baby, if you coulde live, don't forget how much I love you".

The mobile phone was pass along the member of rescuers. And all were touched by the motherly love of the mother that they were shed in tears.

Although Mother's Day has passed, I do hope that as long you love your mother, everyday can be a Mother's Day.
